Davao Christian High School held its annual Chinese Language Arts Festival on January 25, 2019. The event, now on its third year, aims to showcase student talents using the Chinese Language.
Events in the festival include lantern making and paper cutting for the Elementary students and group contests for high school students. Representatives per class were tasked to compete in the Chinese pen calligraphy contest and the quiz bee.
The group contests include a planned and impromptu scenario reenactment, a Mandarin survival video guide, a jazz chant performance, a live voice over film, a traditional Chinese dance, and duet singing.
In Davao Christian High School, Basic Chinese is a core emphasis, aiming to provide students with more opportunities through the teaching of Chinese as a second language. By equipping them with the ability to communicate in meaningful and intentional conversations, students will be able to expand their field of opportunities either in their pursuing of a higher education or in their respective career ventures.
